In the real estate market December is historically the month of the year with lowest product inventory on the market, as many sellers take their homes off the market to enjoy the holidays without having to worry about showings, open houses or packing up and moving. 2014 was a busy year in real estate for Squamish, which resulted in historical low levels of inventory. The interactive graph below shows that the total inventory including detached homes, townhouses and apartments reached a 10 year low in December.
Inventory will pick up as we head into the Spring. With limited supply and high demand, home prices will likely rise if this trend continues, especially for lower priced detached houses.
